Fulton-Montgomery Community College has a long rich history of competitive sports. FM plays in the National Junior College Athletic Association and is a member of Region 3 Athletics. FM is also a member of the Mountain Valley Conference which includes various community colleges from around New York State. These community colleges include Herkimer, Clinton, Mohawk Valley, Hudson Valley, Schenectady, SUNY Delhi, North Country, Columbia-Greene, Adirondack, and Tompkins Cortland.
Since FM was established back in 1963 the athletic program has thrived. During this time they have won 29 Mountain Valley Conference Championships and 7 Region 3 Championships. FM has also had NJCAA National Tournament appearances by the men’s soccer team and women’s basketball team.
