FAQ

Is it ok if I don’t have ACT or SAT scores?

Absolutely. We do not require ACT or SAT scores. If you decide to transfer to another college after FMCC, they will look at your FMCC transcript not a one-time list of ACT or SAT scores.

Can I transfer my courses anywhere?

Yes, although there are some exceptions. Most colleges won’t accept D’s. Many colleges won’t accept remediation courses but other than that if you plan to transfer courses you should have no problem.

Can I transfer courses to FMCC?

YES, again like most colleges, we don’t accept grades of D or below.

I’ve been out of school for 15 years, do you think I can still learn?

Absolutely. In fact more than 40% of our students are over the age of 25. Adult students are very motivated and conscientious.

Do you have a payment plan?

Yes we do. Please contact the Bursar’s Office for more information at (518) 762-4651 extension 7-8601.

If I need extra help with math or writing can you provide it?

Yes. We have free tutoring (help) available everyday. We actually have a writing lab and a math lab dedicated to these two areas.

Is it normal to feel afraid of college courses?

YES. Everyone is somewhat afraid. It doesn’t matter whether you’re 17, 27, 37, or 47! It is normal to fear the unknown. We pride ourselves at FMCC on helping you adjust.

Can I take just one course at a time?

YES

Are you part of the State University of New York?

YES

Can you help me with my application?

YES, feel free to contact the Admissions Office.
